Blue Light: How to Protect Your Eyes

by Dr. Miguel Ferreira··1 min read

What Is Blue Light? High-energy blue light (HEV) is a part of the visible light spectrum with wavelengths between 380 and 500 nanometres. Although it is present in natural sunlight, excessive exposure through digital screens has raised concerns.

The Effects of Blue Light Prolonged exposure to blue light, especially at night, can interfere with the production of melatonin, the hormone that regulates sleep. This can lead to difficulty falling asleep and chronic eye strain.

How Do Protective Lenses Work? Blue light protection lenses have a special filter that blocks or absorbs part of the high-energy blue light, reducing fatigue and improving visual comfort.
